Waktu Paruh serves as a metaphor for the gradual disintegration of social order, ethics, and human values. The work poses the question: when the values that sustain life are steadily eroded, what remains? How does one move forward when the very footing that once supported life is no longer intact?

This decay begins in the most intimate of spaces: the family. Bodies that once supported one another slowly lose their warmth. Relationships devolve into repetition, and the ground beneath one’s feet can vanish without warning. Half of the memory lingers, treading softly across the floorboards of Rumah Gadang (traditional Minang house); the other half moves toward a social reality that offers vastness yet harbors a desire to dominate and seize space. Individual freedom clashes with collective rules, giving rise to friction, negotiation, and a struggle to keep moving.

Ultimately, the space for movement narrows to a precarious path. Every step demands vigilance as the footing grows increasingly fragile. Teetering on the brink of a fall, the body constantly seeks balance—and a chance to endure.
