Yudi Tadjudin

Yudi is known as an experimental director who pushes Indonesia’s theater aesthetics to the next level, and has presented his works in international forums across Asia, Europe, America, and Australia. He is also one of the founders of Teater Garasi - an interdisciplinary artist collective in Yogyakarta. In 2013, he represented Teater Garasi and received the Prince Claus Award from the Prince Claus Fund, the Netherlands, partly because of his “spirit of exploration and innovative works that stimulate the performing arts in Southeast Asia”. In 2014 he received the Art Award from the Indonesian Minister of Culture. He is also the recipient of the 2006 Selected Director for Tempo magazine and an Asian Cultural Council (ACC) scholarship for contemporary theater studies in New York (2011-2012).
