What does it take to create conditions in which artistic practices can grow without determining in advance what they should become?

Tending What Grows brings together practitioners from different artistic development platforms to consider incubation as both a practice of care and a form of infrastructure. Artistic growth requires time, space, funding, knowledge, critical exchange, trust, and room to experiment, fail, reflect, and change direction. It also relies on a wider ecology of producers, curators, dramaturgs, facilitators, peers, and organisations whose work surrounds artistic processes.

As these infrastructures emerge from different cultural, political, economic, and institutional contexts, the session also asks what becomes possible when development platforms begin to connect: what can be productively shared, what needs to remain rooted in particular contexts, and how relationships across platforms might support different ways and rhythms of growing.
