Sekura means covering one’s face in the Lampung Saibatin language.
The identity attached to an individual brings along behavioural requirements to follow social rules according to gender, religion, age, and others. However, what happens if identity is not attached to humans? And if so, what if they are no longer obligated to follow these social rules? Do humans choose an identity and a way of life suitable for themselves?
“Sekuraan” as a cultural product illustrates how human expressions cover their own identity to portray other identities that are not their own. How does sekuraan apply in everyday life?
