Painscriptions is a workshop emerging from Sina Saberi’s choreographic research on pain, informed by medical practices such as EMDR and Somatic Experiencing among others. Through simple somatic instructions and shared movements, participants are invited into an embodied exploration of pain. Drawing on Saberi’s concept of “writing pain,” the workshop approaches pain as a lived experience that can be witnessed, engaged with, and moved through collectively.

People with or without dance experience are welcome to participate. The workshop welcomes participants of different abilities, including those living with chronic conditions, and encourages everyone to engage according to their own capacities and needs.

Participation Note:
The topic of pain and trauma may be triggering for people with PTSD and other chronic psychosomatic conditions. Please participate at your own discretion.

Venue: Ruang Latihan Tari Kontemporer, Taman Ismail Marzuki
