0-Excelsior is an offer to search for emptiness through exploration of sites in our surrounding area, which are visualized with sensual action interventions to uncover other realities in everyday spaces.
For me “Zero” equals empty. “Zero” can also be interpreted as a deepening of spirituality that has almost no space in modern life today. The order of life changes in a capitalist society. Science, technology and administration shaped the people of today. In our daily life, “Zero” seems to be positioned as a “space between”, where there is a constant tug of war between love and death, right and wrong, past and future, dream and reality.

Otniel Tasman
Otniel Tasman, a choreographer deeply rooted in Javanese traditions, especially Banyumas, his hometown. He explores the Banyumas Lengger Tradition as his mother tongue, which gives him the experiences to understand life and inspires him to create dance works that explore gender identity.
