Ahmad Susantri

Ahmad Susantri (Susan) is a choreographer, dancer, and dance educator based in Liwa, West Lampung. His artistic practice stems from personal experiences, Lampung culture, and the social and ecological issues in his surroundings.

He develops an expressive and vibrant performance language through the body, speech, humor, wordplay, costumes, makeup, and everyday objects, alongside whimsical and quirky visual imagery. He often fluidly reinterprets traditions, myths, and local memories to engage with contemporary experiences and foster a connection with the audience.

A graduate of the Master’s program in Dance Creation at ISI Yogyakarta, Susan also integrates education into his practice by teaching dance to children and teenagers across various regions of Lampung.
