Sri Cicik Handayani

Sri Cicik Handayani, familiarly called Cici, was born in 2000 in Sumenep, Madura. She began dancing at seven years old due to the encouragement of her father, who is a Madurese master puppeteer. Cici's love of dance led her to complete her studies at the ISI Surakarta Dance Creation program in 2023 and is currently continuing her Postgraduate studies at the same university. Several of her works include Masak Macak Manak (2020), POTEH (2021), TOK (2021), TANDE' (2022), and her latest work Nandhâng (2023) which explores the spiritual phenomenon of Tandhak women in Tayub Madura art in Sumenep. She was involved in various works as a dancer, including A Song Of Sangiran 17 by Prehistoric Body Theater, presented at the Indonesia Bertutur 2022 festival. In the same year, she was selected as a Young Choreographer of East Java. Cici is known as a dancer with a gallant character, a label that agitates her. Through this body experience, Cici is able to understand dance more and is currently involved in creative and collaborative practice with female choreographers in the Mila Art Dance Laboratory.
