Through their participation in the festival programme and specially curated meetings, Simpul Gerak creates opportunities to learn about each other’s practices and working contexts, build strategic connections, and identify potential collaborations that can be developed further.

Simpul Gerak positions the festival as a meeting point for exchange as well as opportunity-building. Conversations initiated through the program may open access to new networks, knowledge and resource exchange, residencies, presentation opportunities, artistic development, collaborations, and other forms of partnership. Through Simpul Gerak, IDF seeks to strengthen the connections between Indonesia’s dance ecosystem and international networks, while creating pathways for practices and works to travel, encounter new contexts, and develop possibilities for sustained collaboration.
