The dance piece Pan Xian contemplates the latent need for faith and deities in folk culture, while also highlighting the impact of current social movements in Taiwan. This work interlaces historical memories, issues of gender identities, traditional arts, and its ceremonial framework.
This work in development explores the transformation of the trans body through the process of Hormonal Replacement Therapy (HRT). Like nuclear fusion that combines atomic nuclei into a more powerful and complex entity, HRT unites organic biology and medical technology to create a new hybrid identity.
For Angga who grew up in Jakarta, the activity of wrapping rice in food stalls has become a core memory and a tie-in to talk about many things. To him, wrapped rice is very close as a metaphor for the urban living space and the middle- to lower-class people packed together and having to do anything in tight spaces to survive in it.
