This work speaks about women’s cycles, about the phases of life that must be passed through in the modern era within the shadow of moral values that are passed down from generation to generation. Women are blessed with the resilient nature to go through the stages of their lives, bearing the biological, social and natural duties that follow them. With vigour, women continue to explore the meaning of tenderness, connection with the cycles of nature and the body, and the unique power within themselves.

Lawatari

Lawatari is made of a combination of two words – to visit (lawat) and tari (dance). This combination represents Indonesian Dance Festival (IDF)’s intention to connect with performing arts practitioners by co-organizing a mini festival. Held in collaboration with local partners, this program brings the spirit of visiting and getting to know the context of the areas visited. Lawatari was held in Makassar, Padang Panjang and Yogyakarta as part of the Road to IDF 2024 program series.
