SUMMARY:Performing Artifacts: Objects in Question
DESCRIPTION:Mella Jaarsma is a long time artist who uses various mediums to translate ideas about clothing or body covering traditions\, some of which have been expanded into performance practices. The performativity aspect of Mella’s work becomes a temporary offer of a deep reading of objects and artifacts\, but also shapes them in a new reality of space and time. By clashing artifacts and works\, objects and performativity\, conceptual and historical\, Mella Jaarsma confronts us with situations that are out of the ordinary for the body and what we cover it with\, presenting experiences that are between that of the real and the imaginary. \nThe Indonesian Dance Festival in collaboration with ROH holds an artist talk program to explore more in terms of performativity in Mella Jaarsma’s artistic practice. \nSpreaker:\nMella Jaarsma \nModerator:\nYacobus Ari R \n30 Years of IDF – Rasa: Beyond BodiesIn 2022\, the Indonesian Dance Festival (IDF) reaches its 30th year\, a milestone representing an established foundation and maturity. For the 30th anniversary\, through the title “RASA: Beyond Bodies\,” the IDF traces the steps that have been taken and speculates what will next benefit the development of Indonesian dance. \nInformation about Festival

SUMMARY:The Size of Rice II
DESCRIPTION:Measurements play an important part in our lives and form the basis of our mindset\, instinct and intelligence. How we perceive the world and how we shape the world around us is a direct reflection on measurement and proportion in relations to the human body. This performance takes inspiration from a grain of rice\, a traditional measurement unit in a shared agrarian heritage of Southeast Asia. It was this common measurement unit that made commerce in the region possible. However\, measurements also serve other purposes beyond commerce. Measurements are also a system of quantification for building and dwelling. In an archipelago like Indonesia\, a diversity of systems of measurement also diversifies the process of worlding itself. \nMella Jaarsma invited four performers with diverse ethnical and cultural backgrounds in Indonesia to collaborate with her. Based on each dancer’s ontological understanding of preferred correlations\, namely length\, weight\, time and distance (interspace)\, the artist creates an art object for each individual. After the objects take shape\, she welcomes the performers to interact with the artworks according to their own understanding of the world. “The Size of Rice II” digs into measurements of objects\, like a grain of rice\, as well as measurements between objects and the body. \nConcept: Mella Jaarsma | Performers: Abdi Karya\, Siska Aprisia\, Pebri Irawan\, Ari Dwianto | Wood constructions: Octo Cornelius | Video: Anita Reza Zein | Light: Banjar Andura

SUMMARY:Sustainability through Regeneration
DESCRIPTION:The continuation of art practice has always been a challenging matter for all art stakeholders in Indonesia to think about. This is mainly due to limited and unequal infrastructure and economic resources\, but also other important aspects that are interrelated\, such as contextual artistic vision\, human resources\, target audience\, development of digital communication technology\, mobility of people and goods\, professional networks\, also the dynamics of the art field both in the local\, national\, and global aspects. Meanwhile\, performing arts has a distinctive pattern because this sustainability issue does not only apply to groups\, but also individual artists. \nDeparting from the regeneration process that is being carried out by IDF and several other art organizations in Indonesia in the last few years\, the four speakers presented will provide readings and meanings of regeneration from their own experience. \nSpeakers:\nJeannie Park\nSari Majid\nYudi Tadjudin\nIna Suryadewi \nModerator:\nFarah Wardani \n  \nVenue: Rooftop/Serambi – Salihara Arts Center \n30 Years of IDF – Rasa: Beyond BodiesIn 2022\, the Indonesian Dance Festival (IDF) reaches its 30th year\, a milestone representing an established foundation and maturity. SUMMARY:E-PAL: Remembering Our Childhood Body
DESCRIPTION:In this workshop\, Eyi Lesar will invite participants to play games such as the traditional childhood game\, Gobak Sodor. Participants will explore integrating choreography\, games and sports\, while considering intentions and the impact on one’s body’s motor response within a space. This session is an experiment in which participants are challenged to create a patternless choreographic structure that conforms to the rules in a given “space” and relies on the spontaneity of the body. The grown-ups and their bodies will be invited back in time to remember the intelligence of children playing “standby mode” and “neutral mode”\, all the while focused on the goal at hand: dancing while winning the game. \nVenue: Teater Jakarta 4th Fl Studio\nThis workshop is delivered in bahasa Indonesia.

SUMMARY:Body Exploration
DESCRIPTION:Body exploration is highly important\, acting as the basics of cultivating potential in the body\, as a pre-dance class. This practice is synergized with movement exploration\, to produce the ability to synchronise imagination and body capacity to illustrate ideas\, may it be one or many. This class facilitates involvement of the general public to be able to move\, understand their potential\, and at least enjoy the sensation of a professional dancer-style class. Can be followed by the general public\, dance fans\, non-dancers\, and across all ages. \nVenue: Teater Jakarta 4th Fl Studio\nThis workshop is delivered in bahasa Indonesia.

SUMMARY:Tale Tale
DESCRIPTION:In the process of understanding her physical journey\, Sherli is reunited with tale. Tale is an oral tradition that originated from the ancestors of Kerinci people. Since young\, she has heard pantun (Indonesian 4-verse poem) of fairy tales and prayers that were exchanged back and forth during Hajj preparations\, medical rituals\, while working in the rice fields and meadows\, when raising children\, and many other daily rituals. The rhythm and dance of the tale has entered and continues to live within her body. \nBy treating the body like an active archive\, Sherli wants to re-narrate the tale tradition that has become a part of her. Her form is now an open door\, allowing us to see and read Kerinci\, not only as an actual physical site but also as an active cultural space that forms the identity of the people living within it. \n“Tale Tale” is the third work in her Kerinci trilogy. Her previous works “Meniti Jejak Tubuh (2016)” and “Memoirs (2017)” also explore archives within the body and other spectrums of identity. The research for this work began in 2020 and was performed previously for a limited audience at ISI Padangpanjang campus. “Tale Tale” will narrate the many pantun that continue to live as archives with the future generations to come. \nChoreographer: Sherli Novalinda | Dancer: Lovia Triyuliani Ikhlas\, Yogi Afria | Composer: Indra Arifin | Cinematographer: Muhamad Panji | Mapping creator: Cindy Fadhila Sara | Artistic Director: Saaduddin | Dramaturg: Roza Muliati

SUMMARY:Dance Offering (Work in Progress)
DESCRIPTION:The creation of “Dance Offering” is inspired by the Thai traditional performance called Rum-Kea-Bon\, a semi-ritual dance often carried out as a negotiation method. Through this dance\, Kornkarn perceives the human not only as a subject who begs to a greater deity but as a being capable of exchange for getting their wishes granted. Rum-Kea-Bon itself has become part of a culture and has existed since a long time ago\, traveling far back into Thai history. It is a vernacular form\, a dance ‘of the people’\, a space of hope\, an aspiration and a form of spirituality. And judging from the many temples scattered throughout Thailand\, this dance offering has proven to be constantly evolving and adapting through social and cultural changes. \nAt the “Dance Offering” performance in Jakarta\, Kornkarn will invite the audience to make their wishes through a digital shrine. If their wishes are answered\, she will then dance as a form of reciprocal offering. This digital shrine is an imaginary space where hopes\, desires\, and beliefs reside. An imaginary negotiating space between the mundane and the divine. To manipulate the offering process\, a VR (virtual reality) headset is used in this digital temple. Each audience can also witness the visual personally through AR (Augmented Reality) experience on their own devices. Apart from being intended as a call for a utopic future that has yet to materialize\, this dance work is also a space that voices a new co-created reality that transcends physical sites and boundaries\, cultural differences\, and even socio-economic status. \nConcept & Dance: Kornkarn Rungsawang | Animation AR designer:  Piyaporn Bhongse-ton | Dramaturge: Tang Fu Kue | Production manager: Thachaporn Jirasakkee \nSupported by Pichet Klunchun Dance Company

SUMMARY:Museum II: Ridden
DESCRIPTION:Three dancers ride a rhythmic movement\, they are in a state of being ridden\, by a fragrance or a mantra\, the memories of disaster pervading it. “Museum II: Ridden” is a performance that focusing on explores the body of mutation and readiness. \nThis Work is part of the series “The Museum” that Leu Wijee has been working on since 2018\, and in which he reflects on the potential relationships between disaster and dance. Together with Mio Ishida\, “Museum II: Ridden” invites us to look at the most ancient experience that helped to shape human civilization: bodies after disaster. \nChoreography and Scenography : Leu Wijee | Collaborator & Co-research: Mio Ishida | Dancer: Leu Wijee\, Mio Ishida\, Syanindita Prameswari | Lighting Designer: Mamedz Slasov | Artistic Crew: Unknown | Organized: WijeesWorks

SUMMARY:No. 60 Principle
DESCRIPTION:“No. 60” is not a choreographic pose or movement but it is a “principle of the dance practice” that consists of the combination of six elements. Participants will learn about the six elements and how to adapt them in order to find their own dance identities\, which will be created according to the dancers’ unique background\, experiences\, practice and personality. Thus\, every “No. 60” has its own character which reflects its creator. There will be a maximum number of participants\, 15 people. Open to dancers at any skill level. \nVenue: Teguh Karya Room\, Taman Ismail Marzuki

SUMMARY:Senam Kota Kita: Pengantar Tubuh Kuat Hidup di Ibu Kota
DESCRIPTION:Sapa suru datang Jakarta\nSapa suru datang Jakarta\nSandiri suka\, sandiri rasa\nEh doe sayang \nTidak seindah kuduga\nHidup akan merana\nTinggalkan kasur di desa\ndapatkan gubuk di kota \nSiang deng malam e mama\nJalan kasana kamari\nKawan saudara mama\nsamua tidak peduli \n“Siapa Suru Datang Jakarta” – Kembar Grup \n– \nJakarta has been the central of Indonesia for more than 100 years. As a center\, Jakarta attracts some of the best talents from all over Indonesia\, one of them being the Kembar Group\, the artists who wrote the song “Sapa Suru Datang Jakarta” (translation: Who Asks You to Come to Jakarta). However\, its dazzling attraction comes with the harsh reality of living in the big city. To improve quality of life\, one needs to be both mentally and physically strong. \n“Senam Kota Kita” is a calisthenics/dance performance specially designed for the capital citizens at IDF 2022. Gymnastik Emporium offers a different perspective\, seeing calisthenics not just as a physical sport\, but also its aesthetic sense. This performance is designed to enable the audience to be actively involved. \nInspired and influenced by the memories of the Physical Fitness Gymnastics (SKJ) – a compulsory sport for Indonesian students from 1970s to 2000s – this dance work was created after watching big groups of people doing calisthenics together. Collective exercising has actually become a place for women to socialize and self-actualize. This performance was explored at Sanggar Seni Senam Maju\, Cemeti – Institute for Art and Society between April-May 2022\, a period where Gymnastik Emporium adapted the mass calisthenics model into a presentation fit for the stage. The body\, memory\, and the city are important themes in our creation process\, aiming to provide the biggest possible space for expressing personal thoughts about the love and hate relationship with Jakarta. After participating in “Senam Kota Kita”\, we hope the audience does not only get rejuvenated\, but also fit to “fight” again in the hectic capital life. \nPerformers: Abdi Karya\, Ari Dwianto\, Irfanuddien Ghozali\, Kurnia Yaumil Fajar\, Muhammad Abe\, Vandy Rizaldy | Featuring: Fajar Riyanto as visual artist | Gymnastik Emporium will collaborate with practitioners and gymnastics activists in Jakarta to present their work at IDF 2022.

SUMMARY:Social Choreography and Invisible Dance: The Diversity of Approach
DESCRIPTION:In collaboration with Invisible Dance\, a project by Goethe-Institut India and IndonesiaArt laboratory platforms with various visions\, approaches\, formats\, and target participants are increasingly prevalent in our contemporary art scene today. Although emphasizing the importance of the creation process\, it does not mean that this kind of platform does not pay attention to the results. It’s just that what is referred to as “results” is interpreted more subtly and fluidly in the sense that “results” are not only works of art\, but dialogue\, exchange\, and mutual support systems are also perceived as values. The art laboratory platform also enables a collective process in which organizers and participants fuse to try out ways of working\, review each other’s perspectives and comfort zones\, question art systems\, and offer transformative and meaningful prepositions of art practice for specific contexts. \nThe above notes have driven Kampana – IDF Academy and Invisible Dance\, the Goethe Institut India and Indonesia project to open a conversation about process-based art laboratory practices. In this conversation\, the speaker will exchange their experiences of the art laboratory practice before reflecting on the dynamics of the arts and social fields encountered in Indonesia\, regional and international. In addition\, this conversation will also open a space to think together about how dance can be or has become a vehicle for social change\, connecting with local communities and engaging in alternative international networks. How does this process based laboratory platform work in art discourse? How does this approach to the laboratory generate a variety of its practical methods? How does it affect the artistic and aesthetic realm? What is the political potential of this platform in the social and political economy? What positions and roles can be taken by the institutions providing the art laboratory platform\, the relation of boxes to diverse perspectives\, value setting powers\, and other interests? Which voices and perspectives are present in the collaboration\, which are not\, and why is that? How do collaboration participants take a closer look at practices from within the performing arts that have produced significant transformations in local communities and contexts and provide insight into their recent projects? To what extent do laboratory practices affect the growth of the surrounding communal and collective ecosystems? How far does laboratory practice affect infrastructure access in the social and political economy that takes place in the surrounding community? To what extent does collaborative work in laboratory practice allow for the establishment of new alliances or networks\, both locally and globally/internationally? How can the alliance move the dance beyond the realm of the familiar and explore unexpected relationships in an uncertain future? \nAbout Invisible DanceInvisible Dance is a project of the Goethe-Institut in India and Indonesia and aims at supporting the development of seven artistic projects in Indonesia and India between June to November 2022 through financial grants and dramaturgical support. \nAs a collaboration between Indonesia and India\, the project is conceived of as a laboratory to think\, study\, and glean from the movements of the body within the social and in relation to social movements at large. Mandeep Raikhy has been invited as the Dramaturg/Project Coordinator for India whereas the collective Teater Garasi acts as the artistic director team for the Indonesian side. The project is conducted in two phases- a collaborative workshop in July and a production of their performative works which culminates in a work-in-progress presentation. \nSpeakers:\nNia Agustina\nArsita Iswardhani\nMandeep Raikhy\nKatharina Kucher\nEka Wahyuni \nModerator:\nJosh Marcy \nVenue: Teater Jakarta Indoor Lobby \n30 Years of IDF – Rasa: Beyond BodiesIn 2022\, the Indonesian Dance Festival (IDF) reaches its 30th year\, a milestone representing an established foundation and maturity. For the 30th anniversary\, through the title “RASA: Beyond Bodies\,” the IDF traces the steps that have been taken and speculates what will next benefit the development of Indonesian dance. \nInformation about Festival

SUMMARY:Breathing for Dancers
DESCRIPTION:This Masterclass introduces the core principles of Taiji Quan and their creative application in the performing arts. We will practice a set of physical principles relating to breathing patterns and the merging of opposing poles such as in-out\, open-close\, gather-disperse. These physical principles are then experimented as choreographic dialogues of the body-mind-unit with the time-space-whole. Such operations are at the core of “Abstract Dramaturgy”\, a continuously evolving set of structural and choreographic processes in which the word ‘abstract’ is used here as a verb – in that dancing is underscored as a live negotiation between Self and Otherness\, between Figure and Ground. Meaning\, narrative and dramaturgy are rendered as outcomes or by-products that depend on the liveness of the dance and dancer. \nVenue: Trisutji Kamal Room\, Taman Ismail Marzuki

SUMMARY:E-PAL (GAME\, DANCE\, OR SPORT?)
DESCRIPTION:The game Gobak Sodor and Bentengan is a collective childhood memory. Not only does it recall fun memories\, this game also activates a crucial bodily process. Think of the play area as a space that regulates the intensity of your body\, entering it means activating “standby mode” and exiting means “neutral mode”. During play\, children are in “standby mode”. Their bodies are controlled by instincts that are spontaneous\, constantly moving in response to the situation and opponents\, ready to set strategies and achieve victory. In this game\, the player’s movements look like part of an unplanned choreography\, where spontaneity is the most relevant strategy for mastering space. \nMeanwhile nowadays\, the switch in function of public space and the massive use of electronic devices have impacted how children play. The tradition of children’s games\, along with all the experiences attached to them\, have changed. “E-PAL” is a choreography project that adopts the concept of the body in the children’s play arena. What if the stage is treated like a playground and the body is free to experience free choreography while also relying on strategic spontaneity to respond? “E-PAL” invites us to revisit this memory and return to playing like children. \nChoreographer : Ferry Alberto Lesar | Production Manager : Yusuf Bakrie | Musician : Tesla Manaf | Lighting Designer : Deray Setiadi | Script Writer : Novie Elisa | Discussion Friends : Smtrglr\, River Lin\, Arco | Actor : Ishvara Devati \nDancers : E-Dancer’s

SUMMARY:Body Tarekat
DESCRIPTION:“Body Tarekat” is a solo performance that both builds on and departs from physical practices while doing “tarekat”\, specifically the Qadriyah tarekat* from Aceh. Tarekat\, in general context\, is a method or path to get closer to The Almighty by praising his name. For the choreographer\, tarekat is life\, a way to perceive life and existence itself. \nResearch and experiments for this work started in 2019 and continues to evolve to the present day. As someone who does “tarekat” frequently\, the artist wishes to redefine this practice and its relation to the attainment of The Divine Consciousness in both cultural and choreographic realities. Connectedness is one of the most important aspects in the “Body Tarekat”. This work in particular illustrates several key points of connection\, including the dancer’s interconnectedness to his body\, heart\, and mind; the connection between the dancer and the audience; and the connection between individuals – the dancer and people in the audience – with space and time. \nConcept & Choreographer: M. SUMMARY:Paradox
DESCRIPTION:“Paradox” departs from the artist’s research about dream and its relation to the body. How the conscience and the unconsciousness take over the body in turn\, like two separate entities that create a whole being. A person lives in their consciousness\, but only in the unconscious\, everything that is in you – memories\, wounds\, ambitions\, unfinished things – is unearthed. Pane believes dreams act as a driving force between the two\, a pull that shakes and creates tension in the body. \nMaharani Pane plays with this paradox and offers new possibilities of disciplinary work\, using technology as a cross-media platform to break the boundaries of reality and dreams. \nConcept & Choreography: Maharani Pane | Dancer: Rheza Octavia\, Deka Saputra | Visual: Tri Oktoviano\, Afan Paper | Composer: Kelvin Djunaidi | Lighting designer: Deray Setiadi | Artistic Designer: Ferdy Ramadhan | Assistant artistic designer: Irfan Cahya Putra | Production manager: Korinta Chyntia Delfi

SUMMARY:Sky Blue Mythic
DESCRIPTION:WARNING :\n– Limited to 12 years and over.\n– The performance includes Strobe Lighting\, Haze Effects\, and Loud Sound that may prove disturbing to some members of the audience.Reality has always been augmented—by the limits of our human perception. “Sky Blue Mythic” sees the body alienated\, and the alien embodied. Worlds loom\, times loop\, gestures distill and meanings distort. \n“Sky Blue Mythic” approaches dance as a non-human entity—existing on timescales longer than our cultural narratives\, in spaces beyond the locality of the body\, and forms unknowable to human-centric sensing—as a method towards opening ways to know dance\, the body\, and time\, differently. It imagines gestures as symbols that can translate\, morph and stretch meaning across times\, dimensions\, and worlds. In a quest to move away from anthropocentrism\, “Sky Blue Mythic” allows dance to alienate itself from human expression\, in turn requiring the body to become an interface rather than a vehicle. \nArtist/Choreographer/Performer: Angela Goh | Composer/Sound Designer: Corin Ileto | Lighting designer: Govin Ruben | Technical operator: Matt Cornell

SUMMARY:Curators’ Meet Up
DESCRIPTION:The term “curator” was used for the first time at an IDF 2014 event with the edition theme being EXPANDED. However\, this does not mean that there was no curatorial practice before then\, only that the inner workings and the title were different\, for example head of the events sector (IDF period 1992-1993) and artistic board (period 1994-2014). The important thing to note from IDF’s curatorial practice is the collaborative approach that involves several people. This allows IDF’s artistic vision to be built and realized through various perspectives. \nIn 2022\, IDF will work with six curators across generations and countries to develop and reiterate the theme RASA: Beyond Bodies into all the elements of the festival. This curatorial work will form the frame and basis of the entire program\, a discussion process for the artists involved\, encourage knowledge production\, expand networks\, nurture\, and expand public outreach. \nSpeakers:\nLinda Mayasari\nArco Renz\nSal Murgiyanto\nHartati\nNia Agustina\nRiver Lin \nModerator:\nKennya Rinonce \n  \nVenue: Rooftop/Serambi – Salihara Arts Center \n30 Years of IDF – Rasa: Beyond BodiesIn 2022\, the Indonesian Dance Festival (IDF) reaches its 30th year\, a milestone representing an established foundation and maturity. SUMMARY:Starting from the Mind: Imagination & Creativity
DESCRIPTION:Imagination is home to creativity\, the way the mind works in developing free ideas that might even have the ability to surpass our existing experience. Imagination enables humans to create or transform something ordinary into the extraordinary\, even when its form is still a fleeting thought in mind. This workshop hopes to be a space to spark participants’ creativity in using the body\, things\, and spaces around them. This method is usable as a way to create an idea\, seeing possibilities of exploration\, improvisation\, and is applicable to those who do creative work as part of their lives. \nVenue: Salihara Gallery\nThis workshop is delivered in bahasa Indonesia.

DESCRIPTION:Instead of considering limitations as a constraint\, it can actually be seen as guidelines for achieving freedom. This method of limitation is a space for body construction that Hari Ghurur works on to explore new possibilities of repetitive motion\, so that organic and expressive motion emerges. In this class\, participants will practice processing repetitive motions and dissect what can be explored and discovered from there. \nVenue: Salihara GalleryThis workshop is delivered in bahasa Indonesia.

SUMMARY:SILO
DESCRIPTION:The work “SILO” explores the Islamic custom of tahlil\, in this context seen as the central motoric movement around the torso. The work is a vertical dialogue method between him and the Holy One through repetitive and personal movements. This work is developed from his previous work “SILA”\, which was created during Ghulur’s residency at American Dance Festival. Ghulur sees “SILO” as a space to explore the body within the constraints of physical space. “SILO” as a choreography and ritual is an endeavour to reach the emotional and spiritual peak with a limited physical position where one is grounded to the earth. \nArtist/Choreographer/Performer: Hari Ghulur | Dramaturg: Arco Renz | Composer: Rosemainy | Lighting designer: Iskandar Loedin | Producer: Sekar Alit | Co-Producer: Hanidar Fejri | Dancers: Errina Aprilyani\, Puri Senja\, Patry Eka\, Aditya Putra\, Angga I Tirta\, Rifai\, Hari Ghulur

SUMMARY:Vasana Tari 2022
DESCRIPTION:This archive exhibition offers a perspective to see IDF beyond its role as a supporter in dance work productions\, dance events\, or the Indonesian contemporary dance market\, but as a discourse site where we get to understand parts of Indonesian dance history\, in its relations with the dynamics beyond the local dance scene that affects it. Through this perspective\, IDF’s position as a force that shapes dance system will be shifted to the dance system component that is partly choreographed by the socio-political dynamics that surround it. Instead of presenting IDF’s 30-year journey in chronological order\, this exhibition marks the epiphanies that have turned into key episodes in the festival’s aesthetic vision\, which is connected to the dance scene dynamic\, the economic\, political\, and cultural situation on the national\, regional\, and global level\, as well as the digital communications technology development. \nThis Archive Exhibition will be presented throughout the Festival Week: 22 – 28 October 2022\nVisiting hours: 11.00am – 9.00pm\nLocation: S. SUMMARY:Introducing RASA: Beyond Bodies
DESCRIPTION:Why does it matter to talk about “rasa”? The word “rasa” is often associated with the sensory experience\, the emotional aspect that is the opposite of the logical. This association often makes “rasa” only seen on the surface\, even causes misconception. \nThrough reflection and research\, IDF 2022 curatorial team reinterprets “rasa”\, while exploring its conceptual footprints from different cultural experiences. This effort is intended to offer alternative perspectives on “rasa.” This dialogue opens up opportunities for the audience to peek into IDF’s curatorial behind-the-scenes alongside four speakers involved in the formulation of RASA: Beyond Bodies\, the festival theme for 2022. \nIndian director Sankar Venkateswaran will reflect on “rasa” in his home culture. Heru Joni Putra (writer\, curator\, dramaturg) will explore “rasa” in the context of Minang culture. Ayu Utami (activist\, journalist\, author) will share her insights on “rasa” based on written and unwritten texts originating from the archipelago\, and how “rasa” enables us to form a critical spiritual attitude. Representing the host\, Ratri Anindyajati (Festival Director)\, will share about her process in interpreting ideas around “RASA: Beyond Bodies” in the series of festival programs.” \nSpeakers:\nAyu Utami\nHeru Joni Putra\nShankar Venkateswaran\nRatri Anindyajati \nModerator:\nLinda Mayasari \nWatch livestream

SUMMARY:Hero’s Path
DESCRIPTION:When the universe offers the hero a new unknown path\, be it a space or place\, the first thing that appears within is fear\, doubt\, uncertainty and anxiety. The unknown is always scary. The hero begins to run away from responsibility\, from circumstances\, from reality\, from his own fear\, but it was not there. “You can’t run away from yourself\,” says the universe. So she sends the hero his inner beast\, full of all the fears\, doubts\, anxieties the hero must dwell with in order to get into harmony and merge completely with the proposed space and circumstances\, to become one with himself.  A hero is a hero for that – he accepts his beast and looks directly into his eyes. Going up to a new level\, where there is no place for fears\, doubts and mistrust. The hero becomes the universe\, the hero turns into something like water – flexible and fluid. \nWatch the video of this eventAbout Billowing Sails
